Okay, so I finally decided to create my own twitter account. It seemed like a rather simple thing to do. But now I only seem to regret my decision. I have never had a twitter account before, but once I signed up for one, I somehow instantly had people who were folloing me and people that I was folowing despite the fact that I never clicked on anything to follow anyone and no one knows anything about my new twitter account. And what seems even worse is that I cannot seem to unfollow the people I am instantly follwoing, which means I cannot figure out how the hell to delete these people I do not even know from my timeline. I am using the chicken nuggut twitter client, but it doesn't seem to be working right for me since I cannot unfollow anyone. I am rather baffled by all of this as I thought twitter would be rather simple to use. But right now I am just frustrated because I cannot get it to work right and have absolutely no idea what the hell I did wrong to make it not work right in the first place. If you happen to have any ideas as to what might be going on, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.
while I don't use the same Twitter client as you, I know that spammers usually automatically follow people's twitter accounts, so if you can use the Twitter site to click on their username and mark them as spam, you should be fine.
What twitter client do you use then? It seemed like Chicken Nugget was the most popular for PC computer users.
I also use a PC, when I'm not using my iPhone, and the-qube is the client I use while on the PC.
Thanks, but it doesn't look like the cube is still available.
they aren't installing new versions, as far as I know, but it's still available.
The developer discontinued the Qube yes, then he wrote Chicken Nuggit which is what I currently use.
I've had twitter for about six years and I recently had a major problem similar to the op in that, it appeared I was following a whole lot of accounts (which I didn't follow myself; what's more is that when I tried to block them and report them as spam through chicken Nuggit, for whatever reason, it didn't work with all of them. So I had to go to the site and manually block over 500 accounts.
I was told it had something to do with my having so many IOS apps linked to my twitter account and I should change my password; so i unlinked all the ones I wasn't using on my iphone and changed my password. I realize the Opp just got twitter, so all I can suggest is perhaps Chicken nuggit has a small bug when trying to block multiple accounts so as chelsea suggested, perhaps do it on the website.
Come to think of it, I never reported this bug to the developper; should do that.
If you want a really easy website to do it on too, go to m.twitter.com. I've found that the mobile site is actually a lot easier to use and more screenreader friendly than the main site. What I would do if I were you is to just set your account to private. I forget where that is in settings, but could find it if you really want me to. Anyway, that will make it so that you have to approve the people who follow/want to read your twitter timeline.
There is also easychirp.com which is an accessible website for twitter.
Tweets are also arranged in headings, so they're really easy to get to.
But what I like most about that site is they have shortcuts for just about everything.
I myself use it for cleaning out my direct messages.
I use tweetings but my moble platform is notthe your most used here. Its a android client it allows me to follow and unfollow people.
I like easychirp.com and a client called ttytter.
